The Juggling Metaphor

I was introduced to The Juggling Metaphor when I read the book Lessons From The Art of Juggling by Michael J. Gelb and Tony Buzan.

In the book, juggling is used to teach the process of learning and the path to excellence. I really enjoyed reading it and it does offer some valuable insights into accelerated learning.

The Juggling Metaphor

Basic Ideas

  • LEARNING HOW TO JUGGLE IS LIKE LEARNING ANYTHING.

  • If it seems complicated, BREAK IT INTO smaller AND MORE manageable STEPS.

  • SET PERSONAL MASTERY GOALS within reach to drive your motivation.

  • INTENTIONALLY step outside your current abilities and TRY SOMETHING HARDER.

  • Find someone to MODEL EXCELLENCE for you.

  • On your way to your goal, LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES.

  • LAUGH OUT LOUD when things don’t go your way… your mood can lift you up high or bring you down low.

  • Be aware of THE LEARNING CURVE and it’s three stages: Improvement, Plateau, and Dips & Decline.

  • PlAY A LOT!

Quote of the Day

The greatest thing by far is to be a master of metaphor. ~Aristotle
